Welcome to tonight's study in Genesis chapter six.  As always, asking wisdom, knowledge and understanding from the father, in the name of Jesus Christ, let's go with it.

Gen 7:1  And the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ said⁵⁵⁹ unto Noah,⁵¹⁴⁶ Come⁹³⁵ thou⁸⁵⁹ and all³⁶⁰⁵ thy house¹⁰⁰⁴ into⁴¹³ the ark;⁸³⁹² for³⁵⁸⁸ thee have I seen⁷²⁰⁰ righteous⁶⁶⁶² before⁶⁴⁴⁰ me in this²⁰⁸⁸ generation.¹⁷⁵⁵

Remember the study from last night, this is to say perfect in posterity or Genealogies.

Gen 7:2  Of every^{4480, 3605} clean²⁸⁸⁹ beast⁹²⁹ thou shalt take³⁹⁴⁷ to thee by sevens,^{7651, 7651} the male³⁷⁶ and his female:⁸⁰² and of⁴⁴⁸⁰ beasts⁹²⁹ that⁸³⁴ are not³⁸⁰⁸ clean²⁸⁸⁹ by two,⁸¹⁴⁷ the male³⁷⁶ and his female.⁸⁰²

There is the number 7 again, very special number it is.  thus showing the perfection of those clean beasts.

Gen 7:3  Of fowls^{4480, 5775} also¹⁵⁷¹ of the air⁸⁰⁶⁴ by sevens,^{7651, 7651} the male²¹⁴⁵ and the female;⁵³⁴⁷ to keep seed²²³³ alive²⁴²¹ upon⁵⁹²¹ the face⁶⁴⁴⁰ of all³⁶⁰⁵ the earth.⁷⁷⁶

Gen 7:4  For³⁵⁸⁸ yet⁵⁷⁵⁰ seven⁷⁶⁵¹ days,³¹¹⁷ and I⁵⁹⁵ will cause it to rain⁴³⁰⁵ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth⁷⁷⁶ forty⁷⁰⁵ days³¹¹⁷ and forty⁷⁰⁵ nights;³⁹¹⁵ and ⁽⁸⁵³⁾ every³⁶⁰⁵ living substance³³⁵¹ that⁸³⁴ I have made⁶²¹³ will I destroy⁴²²⁹ from off^{4480, 5921} the face⁶⁴⁴⁰ of the earth.¹²⁷

Now we can more clearly see the regain of this flood.  here is the word used for "earth" here.

From H119; soil (from its general redness): - country, earth, ground, husband [-man] (-ry), land.

again, this could be translated as the entire globe, but we have to put all things into perspective.

Gen 7:5  And Noah⁵¹⁴⁶ did⁶²¹³ according unto all³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ him.

  Noah was obedient to the Lord.  This is what God wants of us today, obedience and love, respect and reverence.

Gen 7:6  And Noah⁵¹⁴⁶ was six⁸³³⁷ hundred³⁹⁶⁷ years⁸¹⁴¹ old¹¹²¹ when the flood³⁹⁹⁹ of waters⁴³²⁵ was¹⁹⁶¹ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth.⁷⁷⁶

Gen 7:7  And Noah⁵¹⁴⁶ went in,⁹³⁵ and his sons,¹¹²¹ and his wife,⁸⁰² and his sons'¹¹²¹ wives⁸⁰² with⁸⁵⁴ him, into⁴¹³ the ark,⁸³⁹² because^{4480, 6440} of the waters⁴³²⁵ of the flood.³⁹⁹⁹

Gen 7:8  Of⁴⁴⁸⁰ clean²⁸⁸⁹ beasts,⁹²⁹ and of⁴⁴⁸⁰ beasts⁹²⁹ that⁸³⁴ are not³⁶⁹ clean,²⁸⁸⁹ and of⁴⁴⁸⁰ fowls,⁵⁷⁷⁵ and of every thing³⁶⁰⁵ that⁸³⁴ creepeth⁷⁴³⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth,¹²⁷

Gen 7:9  There went in⁹³⁵ two⁸¹⁴⁷ and two⁸¹⁴⁷ unto⁴¹³ Noah⁵¹⁴⁶ into⁴¹³ the ark,⁸³⁹² the male²¹⁴⁵ and the female,⁵³⁴⁷ as⁸³⁴ God⁴³⁰ had commanded^{6680 (853)} Noah.⁵¹⁴⁶

Gen 7:10  And it came to pass¹⁹⁶¹ after seven⁷⁶⁵¹ days,³¹¹⁷ that the waters⁴³²⁵ of the flood³⁹⁹⁹ were¹⁹⁶¹ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth.⁷⁷⁶

Just as the Lord had said, it came to pass.

Gen 7:11  In the six⁸³³⁷ hundredth³⁹⁶⁷ year⁸¹⁴¹ of Noah's⁵¹⁴⁶ life,²⁴¹⁶ in the second⁸¹⁴⁵ month,²³²⁰ the seventeenth^{7651, 6240} day³¹¹⁷ of the month,²³²⁰ the same²³²⁰ day³¹¹⁷ were all³⁶⁰⁵ the fountains⁴⁵⁹⁹ of the great⁷²²⁷ deep⁸⁴¹⁵ broken up,¹²³⁴ and the windows⁶⁹⁹ of heaven⁸⁰⁶⁴ were opened.⁶⁶⁰⁵

now these windows of heaven.  Remember in chapter 1 of this book, God separated the waters from the waters, above and below the firmament.  just a thought, this could have been some of that very same water which was above the firmament now released as rain.

Gen 7:12  And the rain¹⁶⁵³ was¹⁹⁶¹ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth⁷⁷⁶ forty⁷⁰⁵ days³¹¹⁷ and forty⁷⁰⁵ nights.³⁹¹⁵

Gen 7:13  In the selfsame^{6106, 2088} day³¹¹⁷ entered⁹³⁵ Noah,⁵¹⁴⁶ and Shem,⁸⁰³⁵ and Ham,²⁵²⁶ and Japheth,³³¹⁵ the sons¹¹²¹ of Noah,⁵¹⁴⁶ and Noah's⁵¹⁴⁶ wife,⁸⁰² and the three⁷⁹⁶⁹ wives⁸⁰² of his sons¹¹²¹ with⁸⁵⁴ them, into⁴¹³ the ark;⁸³⁹²

Gen 7:14  They,¹⁹⁹² and every³⁶⁰⁵ beast²⁴¹⁶ after his kind,⁴³²⁷ and all³⁶⁰⁵ the cattle⁹²⁹ after their kind,⁴³²⁷ and every³⁶⁰⁵ creeping thing⁷⁴³¹ that creepeth⁷⁴³⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth⁷⁷⁶ after his kind,⁴³²⁷ and every³⁶⁰⁵ fowl⁵⁷⁷⁵ after his kind,⁴³²⁷ every³⁶⁰⁵ bird⁶⁸³³ of every³⁶⁰⁵ sort.³⁶⁷¹

Gen 7:15  And they went in⁹³⁵ unto⁴¹³ Noah⁵¹⁴⁶ into⁴¹³ the ark,⁸³⁹² two⁸¹⁴⁷ and two⁸¹⁴⁷ of all^{4480, 3605} flesh,¹³²⁰ wherein⁸³⁴ is the breath⁷³⁰⁷ of life.²⁴¹⁶

now here is the string that some may hold to if they simply must have a Global flood in the time of Noah.

this word used for "breath" in v.15 is:

From H7306; wind; by resemblance breath, that is, a sensible (or even violent) exhalation; figuratively life, anger, unsubstantiality; by extension a region of the sky; by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being (including its expression and functions): - air, anger, blast, breath, X cool, courage, mind, X quarter, X side, spirit ([-ual]), tempest, X vain, ([whirl-]) wind (-y).

  This can be the spirit of a rational being, even human.  Although God plainly states that only Noah and his family were to board the ark as far as human passengers.

Gen 7:16  And they that went in,⁹³⁵ went in⁹³⁵ male²¹⁴⁵ and female⁵³⁴⁷ of all^{4480, 3605} flesh,¹³²⁰ as⁸³⁴ God⁴³⁰ had commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ him: and the LORD³⁰⁶⁸ shut him in.^{5462, 1157}

And let me say one thing, when the Lord shuts you in, you stay shut in till he wants you to come out.

Gen 7:17  And the flood³⁹⁹⁹ was¹⁹⁶¹ forty⁷⁰⁵ days³¹¹⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth;⁷⁷⁶ and the waters⁴³²⁵ increased,⁷²³⁵ and bore up^{5375 (853)} the ark,⁸³⁹² and it was lifted up⁷³¹¹ above^{4480, 5921} the earth.⁷⁷⁶

Now we see a slightly different word for "earth",:

From an unused root probably meaning to be firm; the earth (at large, or partitively a land): -  X common, country, earth, field, ground, land, X nations, way, + wilderness, world.

slightly, but not much.

Gen 7:18  And the waters⁴³²⁵ prevailed,¹³⁹⁶ and were increased⁷²³⁵ greatly³⁹⁶⁶ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth;⁷⁷⁶ and the ark⁸³⁹² went¹⁹⁸⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ the face⁶⁴⁴⁰ of the waters.⁴³²⁵

Gen 7:19  And the waters⁴³²⁵ prevailed¹³⁹⁶ exceedingly^{3966, 3966} upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth;⁷⁷⁶ and all³⁶⁰⁵ the high¹³⁶⁴ hills,²⁰²² that⁸³⁴ were under⁸⁴⁷⁸ the whole³⁶⁰⁵ heaven,⁸⁰⁶⁴ were covered.³⁶⁸⁰

Gen 7:20  Fifteen^{2568, 6240} cubits⁵²⁰ upward^{4480, 4605} did the waters⁴³²⁵ prevail;¹³⁹⁶ and the mountains²⁰²² were covered.³⁶⁸⁰

Now as we found last night, these must have been some terribly low mountains as 15 cubits is only 22.5 feet of water.  The water was high enough to kill the giants in the land, and destroy all life in that valley, the earth as Noah knew it.

Gen 7:21  And all³⁶⁰⁵ flesh¹³²⁰ died¹⁴⁷⁸ that moved⁷⁴³⁰ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth,⁷⁷⁶ both of fowl,⁵⁷⁷⁵ and of cattle,⁹²⁹ and of beast,²⁴¹⁶ and of every³⁶⁰⁵ creeping thing⁸³¹⁸ that creepeth⁸³¹⁷ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth,⁷⁷⁶ and every³⁶⁰⁵ man:¹²⁰

Gen 7:22  All³⁶⁰⁵ in whose nostrils⁶³⁹ was the breath^{5397, 7307} of life,²⁴¹⁶ of all^{4480, 3605} that⁸³⁴ was in the dry²⁷²⁴ land, died.⁴¹⁹¹

Gen 7:23  And ⁽⁸⁵³⁾ every³⁶⁰⁵ living substance³³⁵¹ was destroyed⁴²²⁹ which⁸³⁴ was upon⁵⁹²¹ the face⁶⁴⁴⁰ of the ground,¹²⁷ both man,^{4480, 120} and⁵⁷⁰⁴ cattle,⁹²⁹ and⁵⁷⁰⁴ the creeping things,⁷⁴³¹ and⁵⁷⁰⁴ the fowl⁵⁷⁷⁵ of the heaven;⁸⁰⁶⁴ and they were destroyed⁴²²⁹ from⁴⁴⁸⁰ the earth:⁷⁷⁶ and Noah⁵¹⁴⁶ only³⁸⁹ remained⁷⁶⁰⁴ alive, and they that⁸³⁴ were with⁸⁵⁴ him in the ark.⁸³⁹²

Now that sounds fairly well all inclusive; don't it?? 

Gen 7:24  And the waters⁴³²⁵ prevailed¹³⁹⁶ upon⁵⁹²¹ the earth⁷⁷⁶ a hundred³⁹⁶⁷ and fifty²⁵⁷² days.³¹¹⁷

Yes, that sounds like it covers all life alright.

Question??  how does the kennites get mixed in with the scribes in:

1Ch 2:55  And the families⁴⁹⁴⁰ of the scribes⁵⁶⁰⁸ which dwelt³⁴²⁷ at Jabez;³²⁵⁸ the Tirathites,⁸⁶⁵⁴ the Shimeathites,⁸¹⁰¹ and Suchathites.⁷⁷⁵⁶ These¹⁹⁹² are the Kenites⁷⁰¹⁷ that came⁹³⁵ of Hemath,^{4480, 2575} the father¹ of the house¹⁰⁰⁴ of Rechab.⁷³⁹⁴

These are descended from   Cain who had no family on the ark.  Think about it.
